Charity fund season 2021-2022

Kev and I have called season 2021-2022 closed as far as the charity work is concerned. We began the season with no charity in mind to work with, but were persuaded in mid-July to resurrect the idea. We have donated to several charities over previous seasons, but thought that instead of our usual theme of charities dedicated to helping people, we would look for an alternative and Guide Dogs was mentioned as an option.

We began the charity fund-raising on 31st July 2021 with a visit to Rainworth MW who, as soon as they heard of our new charity fund raiser, promptly popped a few quid in the pot!

Since then, we have seen over 400 games between us and with a little help from our very special “friends of the blog”, the fund total reached a stupendous £1500,00 on 26th May 2022. Listed below are the names of the kind people who also “popped a few quid in the pot”!

“Thank you” doesn’t seem anywhere near enough to say what we feel, but with all our hearts we do THANK YOU! We’ve never hit anywhere near that sort of total before and we are both stunned and “gob-smacked” at the amount of money those listed were prepared to donate. Special mentions go to DC Motorcycles, David Blakeley, Ian Spencer and Eastwood & Kimberley All Stars who between them, in May, boosted the fund by over £460.00!

I do hope I haven’t missed anyone – I’m usually very good with spreadsheets and word docs, but the memory isn’t what it used to be!
